

Moon was previously faculty in the Architecture Department at Cornell University, Yale University, and the Taubman College at the University of Michigan. Include the Yokohama Mixed Use Housing Competition and Sagaponac House while working for Shigeru Ban in Tokyo, and the New School Renovation, artist’s residence, and Tamarkin condominiums for 1100 Architect. His contributions at OMA include the Koningen Julianaplein in the Hague, the PRADA Transformer in Seoul, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the White City W12 master plan in London, the Museum Plaza project in Louisville, the Cordoba Congress Center in Cordoba, Spain, and research work for AMO. Until founding N H D M, Moon practiced in offices in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and as a key designer at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and New York. Holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan. Is a registered architect in the State of New York and Hwang is a 2010 University of Michigan Muschenheim Fellow and a recipient of 2016 New York State Council of Art Independent Projects Grant. Hwang has taught at University of Michigan and Cornell University, and currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in Architecture at Columbia University GSAPP. Prior to Field Operations, she practiced at Stan Allen Architects Herzog & de Meuron OMA and the studio of Rafael Moneo, contributing to a wide range of built and speculative projects, including the Walker Art Center expansion in Minneapolis, MN "La Reserva" housing prototypes in Santiago, Chile Dee and Charles Wyly Theater, Dallas, TX and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Los Angeles, CA. She was also a project designer for the architectural elements forįield Operations’ 2,200 acre public park Fresh Kills, the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus Master Plan, and the proposal for the Taichung Contemporary Music Center in Taiwan. Until founding N H D M, Hwang practiced as a Senior Associate at James Corner Field Operations, and played a critical role in the design and implementation of the firm’s High Line Section 1 and Section 2 as the Lead Designer (2004-2006) and Lead Project Designer (2007-2010), heading a multidisciplinary design team of architects, landscape architects, and others. Holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. Hwang is a registered architect in the State of New York and N H D M’s work has been exhibited and presented at global venues including the 17th International Architecture Exhibition at the 2021 Venice Biennale, 2019 Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, the 5th and 6th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, and the 14th International Architecture Exhibition at 2014 Venice Biennale, the Storefront for Art and Architecture, the Center for Architecture New York, UMMA Stenn Gallery, and the Cornell University Hartell Gallery among others.
